Henry Viscardi School at The Viscardi Center, which educates children with severe physical disabilities, was named a Finalist in the Innovation Award category in The 3rd Annual Long Island Imagine Awards. The Long Island Imagine Awards was created to offer formal acknowledgement to some of Long Island’s most effective and innovative nonprofit organizations. Last year’s event attracted over 300 attendees from the nonprofit and business communities and an even larger crowd is expected this year.

Hoda Kotb, Co-Host of Today Speaks at Reach for a Star Luncheon Benefitting Henry Viscardi School
April 13, 2015 – Hoda Kotb, co-host of the fourth hour of NBC’s Today and Dateline NBC correspondent, spoke to over 400 guest at the March 30th Reach for a Star Luncheon that raised funding for the Henry Viscardi School at The Viscardi Center’s after-school programs. Upon her arrival, Ms. Kotb greeted Viscardi students and posed for photographs. She opened her remarks by taking some “selfies” that she showed on air the next morning. After meeting a group of students and learning more about Henry Viscardi School, which serves children with severe physical disabilities who often require life-sustaining medical treatment throughout the day, Ms. Kotb shared, “I get it… and why all of you here today help out.”
