5th Annual Surf Outing for Henry Viscardi Students
In Memory of Connor Troy
A day of surfing & beach fun for HVS students & their families
Connor was a student at the Henry Viscardi School. He loved the ocean and dreamed of riding a yellow surfboard one day. Cliff and Will Skudin of Surf For All planned to make that happen. Unfortunately, Connor passed away before getting to catch a wave. But we now make his dream happen for his friends at HVS. Surf For All is a not for profit 501c3 organization that voluntarily teaches surfing to a variety of special needs students all over Long Island ranging from the Physically Disabled, Autism, Blind and Visually impaired, Down Syndrome, Wounded Warriors, and Underprivileged Youth. We believe the ocean is a source of healing and spiritual strength & should be accessible to all.
We invite you to our Annual Surf outing on July 12th at 1:30 p.m. The students will take turns surfing with the instructors without more than 5 students in the water at once with 1 on 1 instruction. We urge each student to have their parents or a guardian with them for the surf outing. The parent may assist the child getting their life jackets on and down to the beach for their surf lesson. Each parent must sign our liability waiver in order for their child to participate. We will have experienced instructors with the students who are Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid certified along with Long Beach Lifeguards present. Chairs, umbrellas, and food will be provided to all the participants, parents, and volunteers. Surf chairs are also available for those students that just want to take a dip in the ocean. Or you can just watch and enjoy the ocean breeze.
Surf for All is honored to be apart of this surf outing and looking forward to an awesome day filled with smiles!
