The Elementary Program at Henry Viscardi is committed to providing each student with a challenging standards-based curriculum focused in high expectations, in a safe and nurturing school climate. Our goal is to instill in our elementary students the habits of a mind that characterizes a self-reliant thinker, reader and learner. We strive to develop positive concepts, foster respect for individual differences, and cultivate a supportive school climate. Henry Viscardi Elementary School focuses on meeting the individual needs of each student through academics, related services and supporting programs that include l anguage arts, mathematics, science, social studies, technology, art, music, adapted physical education and swimming. We offer academic interventions services, along with educational field trips to supplement classroom learning. In addition, Viscardi holds after school programs, such as Cubbies Basketball, Elementary Student Council and Friday Night Recreation both beginning in fourth grade. Our loving parents, supportive administration, caring faculty, and talented elementary students make HVS a special “world” created to help them reach their highest potential.
