The Henry Viscardi School encourages and promotes the use of volunteers to enhance and support the services we provide. Volunteers generally are assigned to provide classroom support under the direction of the teacher. Some of their responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: serving as a scribe, assisting on “set ups,” sharing computer expertise, and photocopying materials for the class. We endeavor to match our volunteers’ skills, knowledge, experience, and motivation to best serve our schools’ and students’ needs. Volunteers are screened prior to being welcomed into the Viscardi community. They make a vital contribution to our program.
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and willing to provide a consistent commitment to their placement. To apply as a volunteer for the Henry Viscardi School at The Viscardi Center, please download a volunteer application or pick one up at the main school entrance. Completed applications may be faxed to 516.465.3790, printed and mailed to Henry Viscardi School, 201 I.U. Willets Rd. Albertson, NY, 11507, or dropped off at the school. You may also send inquiries and completed applications to volunteers@henryviscardischool.org
