Dear Henry Viscardi School Family,
The start of the 2015-2016 year has been an exciting time for our school. Most parents have met with their children’s teachers during parent conferences at the beginning of the month. Our school has completed our first quarter, and we are well into our second. Another year of elections are complete, and we welcome a new legislative session with much more lobbying work ahead of us. Most especially, our new program model has launched successfully, and we have had the privilege to welcome talented and dedicated new staff to work in our classrooms, which are supporting the needs of all our students.
This is the time of year to reflect on the many things for which we are thankful. Most importantly, we are thankful for our students who come to school every day excited and engaged to learn – they give us all a daily reminder of what is important and why we are here. We are thankful for the support of the parents, and we are thankful for the teachers, assistants, medical staff, bus drivers, secretaries, lunchroom aides, support staff, therapists, and administrators who really care about our students and have the best interests of our students at heart. We are also thankful for our volunteers, who enthusiastically contribute so much to our school. In these challenging times, we see dedicated and tireless individuals going above and beyond to make sure that great things happen in our school. They do make a difference.
We are especially thankful for the parents that have kept the faith in us as we have embarked on this journey of a new program model this year. Our parents and families continue to share their most valuable possession with us, their children. We want to continue our efforts to advocate for the education, safety, and well-being all of the students who attend the Henry Viscardi School.
For all members of the HVS community, we are ever so thankful. I would like to wish all of you and your families a happy, healthy, and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday!
Very truly yours,
Diana V. DeVivio
