The Henry Viscardi School at The Viscardi Center held a socially distanced, in-person commencement ceremony for the graduating Class of 2021 on June 24, 2021. “Ready for Takeoff” to be viewed by millions of travelers on JetBlue Airways flights.
Thanks to our friends at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) and JetBlue, The Viscardi Center is once again the focus of an in-flight video feature playing on the seatbacks of all JetBlue Airways flights during the month of November — reaching millions of flyers across the U.S. Produced by NYIT film students, “Ready for Takeoff” showcases how experiences provided by JetBlue and Viscardi have broadened horizons for students with disabilities at the Henry Viscardi School.

Albertson, N.Y. (August 14, 2018) — The Viscardi Center — a network of non-profit organizations providing a lifespan of services that educate, employ, and empower people with disabilities — announced on Monday that it has formally named its Albertson-based campus to honor the generosity and leadership of long-time supporters Michael and Jocelyn Pascucci and their family. The campus will now be known as “The Pascucci Family Campus of The Viscardi Center” to commemorate three-generations of commitment.
Commencement speaker Jim Sinocchi, Managing Director of the Office of Disability Inclusion at JPMorgan Chase & Co, and a member of The Viscardi Center’s Board of Directors, had a message to share with Viscardi’s graduating Class of 2018: “We all have a little bit of superhero in us.”
Albertson, NY — Broadway came to Long Island for a musical afternoon in benefit of the Reach for a Star Luncheon, which raised close to $221,000 for vital afterschool programs and extracurricular activities for students with severe physical disabilities at the Henry Viscardi School (HVS) at The Viscardi Center.
Special guest Kara Lindsay, famous for her roles in Newsies, WICKED, and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, performed a set of show tunes for a crowd of 450 attendees at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury on April 10. At the close of her set, Lindsay sang “Tomorrow” from Annie with several second graders from Viscardi.
